Portland Senior Photography

We were so excited to do a session with this fun family again! It is amazing how much this High school Senior has grown since our last session just six months ago. This family is always a blast to hang out with, my stomach hurts after laughing for the entire hour. We did manage to compose ourselves for some great shots.

Thank you guys for choosing to come back to E.C. Photography for your Senior pictures, hope to see you again soon!

Don’t Forget To Take The Regular Pictures

Taking professional pictures all the time our kids are used to us dressing them up and taking them to our favorite photogenic places. But we try to always remind each other not to forget about the “regular pictures.” You know…. the ones you probably won’t frame on the wall, the ones you’ll show them one day and laugh.

Casting Call – Calling All Cuties Ages 3 months – 4 years

E.C. Photography is working with an exciting Portland children’s clothing line. We are looking for your adorable little ones ages 3 months – 4 years, boys and girls.

*Must be available Sunday, April 10th. Parents must attend the entire photo shoot and keep an eye on their child at all times.

*Must sign a release allowing E.C. Photography and clothing designer to use all images for advertising.

*Child must be well behaved and independent. Kids are kids and can have their moments or days, we completely understand that and won’t hold it against you if your child has an off day. But if your child has severe shyness or separation anxiety this isn’t the gig for them. We want the children to be able to play independently and with the other children without needing you by their side.

Models that are accepted and who attend the shoot will receive a free 8×10 image of their child and a discount from the clothing designer. We aren’t disclosing the clothing company until the shoot, but let me tell you…… OMG. SO CUTE.

Please send a picture of your child, their age and gender to

E.C. Photography and the designer will go over applications and return emails next week. Show us those cuties!

Muddy Monday: Mud Isn’t Just For Boys

We’re still booking for Mud Madness in April and wanted to let you know that mud isn’t just for boys or just for kids (although we are keeping it G-Rated here, lol)! Some of you might not know what to expect with a mud photo session, so we grabbed one of our favorite models and did a quick session to help show you what you can expect.

We will take a few shots of your child(ren) before they get all dirty,

some more as they explore their surroundings and double check to be sure you are really telling them it’s okay to get muddy.

And then plenty as they jump right into the fun!

Mud pictures can be pretty and unique, while capturing the pure joy of childhood. Boys and girls, littles and bigs…. you are all welcome to join us April 9th for a great time. Visit our specials page for details and email to book today! Remember, we can also do full mud sessions, just ask!

Is this the coolest thing you’ve ever seen? Click the “share” button below and tell your friends!

Two Photographers; Twice The Creativity

I thought I’d take a minute to explain the benefits of having two photographers. There’s the extra number of shots taken, which mean more photos for you in your gallery. There’s the extra pair of hands helping to direct you or your children. And of course there’s the fact you get to spend an hour with two awesome people instead of one 🙂

While editing pictures this weekend it happened again. It happens every session, but for some reason we are always surprised…. and delighted. We’ve captured the same moment from two perspectives. There is different composition and different lighting. I wanted to post an example to show you the benefit of having two photographers and to show you how we work with the natural light for different effects.

Which is your favorite?
